O2 Employment Services is working with a local Optometry Office who is looking for a Doctors Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term role in Redding, CA.

Compensation and Schedule of the Doctors Assistant:
  • $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Vision, dental, medical offered through O2
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Qualifications of the Doctors Assistant:
  • Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred, but not required.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a medical or dental field – Required.
  • Genuine interest in the field of optometry and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate and updated patient records.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to customer service.
 
Responsibilities of the Doctors Assistant:
  • Assist with pre-testing procedures, such as measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and visual field tests.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and availability of necessary supplies.
  • Welcome and guide patients through the check-in process, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and current medications.
  • Learn to perform basic diagnostic tests, such as lensometry, keratometry, and retinal imaging.
  • Support the optometrist during eye examinations, providing necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Assist patients with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper lens insertion and removal techniques.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and appointment reminders.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including managing phone calls, filing patient records, and processing insurance claims.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
