The Benefits and HR Administrative Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations and benefits administration. This is a full time, long term position located in Redding, CA. 
Requirements of the Benefits Administrative Assistant:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:  
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience with Payroll, Human resource and legal document preparation or equivalent administrative experience required.
  • SHRM credential or HRCI certification preferred.
Benefits of the Benefits Administrative Assistant:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
$20.00-$25.00 an hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities of the Benefits Administrative Assistant:
  • Enhances the department and organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested (Note Taking, Letters, Forms, , etc.)
  • Files documents into appropriate employee and client files, assists HR specialist with filing as needed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records by documenting employee and client correspondence and compiling reports from the database as needed.
  • Creates and amends miscellaneous documents & update Client Summary Sheets as requested/needed.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; conducting research; developing and organizing information.  
  • Prepares and maintains special internal and external reports.
  • Prepares files and documents for trainings and events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reviews, adds, updates, and terminates benefit deductions when applicable.
  • Prepares renewals for open enrollment and present to employees
  • Quoting new clients for their own group benefits
  • Enrolls newly eligible employees in benefits.
  • Updates benefit summary plans and rates for open enrollment.
  • Submits medical support notices and calculates eligibility.
  • Assists with the completion of ACA reporting
  • Communicates with benefit carriers to correct any benefit errors when needed.
  • Assists in processing, documenting, and termination of insurance claims, denials, and enrollments.
  • Prepares benefit premium notices for employees going on leaves of absences
  • Initiates broker of record changes: preparing notices to carrier, obtaining carrier online access, gathering rates and summary plans from client
  • Submit COBRA for terminated employees
  • Communicates effectively with clients and or employees as needed regarding insurance questions, policies, and premium rates.
Sales Support 
  • Monitors trends within the assigned market and client portfolio for product/service opportunities and competitor activity.
  • Works with Sales staff in sales process to expand penetration.
  • Represent Teamwork HR and O2 Staffing in community events and activities as required.
  • Assists Teamwork HR/O2 Staffing clientele with recruitment needs analyzing what best fit is for our client based on O2 Staffing services or Teamwork HR services.
