A local law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join its team.  The Paralegal will provide law firm offering full-service legal representation for individuals, corporations, non-profits and private enterprises throughout California. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, willingness to learn and the ability to interact positively with clients and staff. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Redding, CA.
 
Requirements of the Paralegal:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
  • Experience in Litigation legal assistant, transactional OR trust/estates legal assistant
  • Great organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collaboration Skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and other computer skills
  • Strong Multi-tasking Skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
  • Exhibit technical and professional expertise and decorum
  • Solve problems and analyze difficult or challenging issues
  • Take initiative to evaluate and streamline processes
  • Communicate effectively in both specific and broad terms
  • Develop and maintain good relationships
  • Collaborate, foster and encourage teamwork
  • Basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, rules, and procedures
  • Document preparation techniques
  • Ability to handle confidential material
  • Basic understanding of family law, civil law, criminal law, and rules of civil and criminal procedure
  • Ability to conduct basic legal research, including the location of statutes and computerized legal research utilization
Benefits of the Paralegal:
$23.00-$26.00 an hour, depending on experience
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities of the Paralegal:
  • Completing legal intake with clients
  • Assists with case planning, development, and management
  • Provide limited legal services on the matters stated above, including preparing protection orders, documents related to child custody, paternity and divorce, process and assemble documents for filing with the court
  • Conduct investigations, statistical and documentary research
  • Referring clients to Attorney/Legal Resources as needed for legal services that the Paralegal cannot provide
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence and pleadings
  • Drafts and analyzes legal documents and collects, complies and utilizes technical information, to make recommendations to an attorney
  • Gathers facts and retrieves information
  • Other duties as assigned
