O2 Employment Services is working with a local Pathology Practice who is looking for a Medical Transcriptionist. This is a full-time, long-term role in Redding, CA.
Compensation of the Medical Transcriptionist:
- $21 an hour
- Vision, dental, medical offered through O2
Qualifications of the Medical Transcriptionist:
- Proficiency in medical transcription and terminology, particularly in pathology-related terms.
- Strong typing skills with a typing speed of at least 60 words per minute and high accuracy.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and transcription software.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills for interpreting and transcribing complex medical information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Responsibilities of the Medical Transcriptionist:
- Accurately transcribing pathology reports, clinical notes, and other medical documents from dictated recordings.
- Editing and proofreading transcriptions to ensure proper grammar, clarity, and adherence to medical standards.
- Verifying and cross-referencing medical terms and patient information for accuracy.
- Maintaining and organizing electronic and physical records securely and efficiently.
- Communicating with pathologists and medical staff to clarify unclear dictations or incomplete information.
- Ensuring all transcriptions comply with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines.
- Keeping up-to-date with advancements in medical terminology, transcription practices, and pathology-specific standards.
- Assisting with additional administrative tasks related to patient records as needed.
