O2 Employment Services is working with a local Cardiology office who is looking for an experienced Medical Biller. This is a full-time, long-term role in Redding, CA.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical billing, particularly in cardiology, and possess a strong understanding of insurance claims processing, coding, and reimbursement procedures. This role is crucial to ensuring that the billing operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations
Compensation of the Medical Biller:
- $18.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Vision, dental, medical offered through O2.
Qualifications of the Medical Biller:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of medical billing experience – Required.
- 2+ years of experience in a cardiology setting – Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent – required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiology procedures, medical terminology, and billing/coding practices
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software, particularly in cardiology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies.
- High level of accuracy in billing and coding, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all compliance standards.
Responsibilities of the Medical Biller:
- Accurately prepare, review, and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all relevant coding guidelines and payer requirements.
- Apply appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient encounters, with a focus on cardiology-specific procedures and diagnoses.
- Record and reconcile payments from insurance companies, patients, and other payers. Follow up on any discrepancies or denials.
- Identify, investigate, and appeal denied claims, ensuring maximum reimbursement for services provided.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility before services are rendered. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve coverage issues.
- Prepare and send patient statements, and manage payment plans when necessary. Address patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance.
- Stay current with changes in billing regulations, payer requirements, and coding standards to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Generate and analyze reports on billing activities, revenue cycle performance, and accounts receivable to support practice management decisions.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes.
