A local family physician is searching for a Medical Assistant for a primary care practice with established patients focused on geriatric age group. Ideal candidates will be compassionate, reliable, personable, detail oriented with a strong work ethic. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Redding, CA.

REQUIREMENTS for Certified Medical Assistant
  • 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Must be certified with the state of California as an Medical Assistant
  • Ability to assist in the front office as needed
  • Ability to think and act quickly
  • Must be flexible
  • Ability to assist with procedures
  • Must be a team player
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
  • Able to take direction from the doctor
  • Strong customer service and people skills
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure
COMPENSATION for Certified Medical Assistant
$16.00 – $18.00 an hour depending on experience

HOURS for Certified Medical Assistant
Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm 
Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES for Certified Medical Assistant
  • EHR use( experience with eClinicalworks is a plus)
  • Answering patient phone calls and triaging
  • Checking patients in and out as needed
  • Obtaining vital signs including BP
  • Managing medication lists and prescriptions
  • Ordering lab and x-rays, ICD-10 codes
  • Scheduling x-rays, procedures etc.
  • Referrals to other doctors and providers and tracking them
  • Maintaining sanitation and sterilization
  • Maintaining medical and other supplies including vaccines and injections
  • Injections
  • EKGs
  • Filling out forms, Prior authorizations, calling pharmacies, communicating with Home Health, Insurance etc.
  • Requesting and sending records while complying with HIPAA regulations. Maintaining security of health
     information in all aspects. Fax machine and printer use skills.
  • Scanning documents and filing in EHR , if needed
  • Other duties as assigned
