O2 Employment Services, Northern California’s leader in staffing and recruitment, is working with a local university to find their next Director of Human Resources. Ideal candidates will be personable, detail oriented, and task driven. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Redding, CA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
  • HR certification preferred or willing to pursue
  • Must have at least seven years of experience in Human Resources and knowledge on policies relating to: benefits, personnel law, employee compensation, personnel files, risk management, student personnel and HR practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, students, customers, vendors and management
  • Must properly use tact, diplomacy, discretion and sound judgment
  • Highly professional in integrity and demeanor
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in leading and working as part of a team

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides guidance and administrative oversight in all functional areas of HR, including but not limited to: Recruitment, Employee and Labor Relations, Employee
  • Benefits, HR Law, Employee Compensation, Risk Management, Personnel Files, HR Policy Development, Employee Orientation, Staff Handbook and Student Personnel
  • Provide counsel to management and staff on Human Resources issues, including interpreting policies and laws and offering guidance to managers regarding application of policy and sound practices to specific non-standard situations
  • Conduct new hire orientations and exit interviews for staff and faculty
  • Manage the HR department operating budget
  • Responsible for the maintenance and renewal of all insurance and benefit packages for the University
  • Address legal compliance issues, minimizing unnecessary exposure of liability to the University
  • Responsible for employee relations, salary, benefits, recruiting, and training and development
  • Responsible for management of annual open enrollment process
  • Recruit, select, and supervise HR staff. Plan for professional development of these persons
  • Serves as the campus-wide Title IX Coordinator for the university, providing oversight in working with others areas on campus to make sure university is compliant
    in all areas

WAGES

  • $70,000 to $80,000
