Local government entity is looking for their next Custodial Technician to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the responsibilities this position requires. Individuals in this classification perform a variety of custodial work in city-owned buildings and public facilities. Evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.  This is a full-time, long-term position.
Custodial Technician Qualifications
  • Passing an extensive background is required.
  • MUST have knowledge of appropriate cleaning, vacuuming, sanitizing techniques, use of cleaners, commercial carpet cleaners, sanitizing agents, waxes and buffing compounds; high-speed buffers.
  • Typical education would include a high school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Prior relevant experience desirable.
  • Must possess the appropriate California driver's license, or the ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.   
  • MUST have the ability to interact effectively with the public and terminal building employees.
  • Operate all cleaning and polishing equipment necessary to the assignment.
  • Follow written and oral directions, and operate a motor vehicle when necessary.
  • Incumbents in this classification are required to work on a shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, and outdoors in a variety of extreme weather conditions.
Custodial Technician Responsibilities
  • Wet and dry mop, wax and buff floors, and vacuum carpeted floors.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, clean windows, dust, empty and dispose of trash.
  • Observe basic security of City building(s) during non-operational hours and report discrepancies.
  • Perform minor maintenance of equipment or fixtures in the assigned areas.
  • Perform related duties as assigned. 
Custodial Technician Compensation and Benefits
  1. $35,360.00 – $39,000.00 annually.

  3. Full-time employees are covered by CalPERS.
  4. Vacation and Holiday pay are available.
