O2 Employment Services, Northern California’s leader in staffing and recruitment, is working with a local organization to find their next Admissions Counselor. Ideal candidates will be personable, goal oriented, and people driven. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Redding, CA.

The Adult and Graduate Studies Admissions Counselor serves as a point of contact with prospective students interested in adult and graduate education at the organization. This position assists the student through the entire admissions process including relevant financial aid documentation necessary for enrollment.  This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining recruitment strategy for adult and graduate programs. Recruitment travel will be required of this position, along with local networking events.


REQUIREMENTS for Admissions Counselor

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  2. Experience in recruitment of students highly preferred
  3. Demonstration of excellent customer service experience
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, etc.), as well as an ability to learn and use the CRM
  5. Proficient in social media channel(s) marketing and distribution
  6. Experience with or aptitude to learn the student information system application
  7. Graduate of  a non-traditional, working-adult oriented program desirable
  8. Ability to work closely with others as part of a team
  9. Effective communication skills that can be appropriately supportive and directive
  10. Ability to develop a working relationship within the local community (e.g. businesses, community colleges, medical facilities, etc.)
  11. Ability to motivate others toward the completion of their educational goals


COMPENSATION for Admissions Counselor

  • $18-19/hour



Monday-Friday, daytime

RESPONSIBILITIES for Admissions Counselor

Essential Functions:

  1. Meet and maintain means for achieving the established goals in cooperation with the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Director of Admissions for Adult and Graduate Studies
  2. Build and maintain positive relationships with academic administration to: understand programs and program offerings; create effective and meaningful communication for prospective students; and facilitate the transition between admission to student status
  3. Maintain regular contact with prospective students and manage their admission file throughout the admission and enrollment process
  4. Build and maintain online presence of information meetings for all programs in coordination with Assistant Director of Admissions for Adult and Graduate Studies and academic deans
  5. Participate in the planning and implementation of information meetings for prospective students at various times during the year
  6. Actively seek opportunities for information meetings and referral of students to the organization
  7. Promote the organization by attending events to promote interest in adult and graduate programs
  8. Facilitate advising appointments on campus when recruiters are not available
  9. Create and maintain recruitment strategy for adult and graduate studies, including travel locally and regionally
  10. Contribute to the growth of enrollment with lead generation through the utilization of social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.)
  11. Provide prospective students with initial direction for organization financial aid processes and options and coordinate financial aid advisement for new student in cooperation with Student Financial Services
